1. Chapter Purpose¶
Five verses establish two things: the zodiac as Kalapurusha's literal body (with a real diagnostic technique built on it), and four independent classification systems for the 12 signs β one of which (benefic/malefic) must be kept carefully distinct from Module 2's planet-level version of the same vocabulary.

Ch. 3 v.11's benefic/malefic classifies planets (which planets tend to produce helpful/harmful results); Ch. 4 v.5's classifies signs (which zodiac divisions are considered cruel/gentle in nature). They are independent systems using overlapping vocabulary (KrΕ«ra/Saumya) for different objects β conflating them would mean incorrectly assuming a sign's nature changes a planet's benefic/malefic status, which the text does not claim.
