- Is the "evil houses" list (3rd, 6th, 8th, 11th, 12th) in v.14–16's Notes part of Parashara's own verse text, or the translator's bracketed gloss?

- 1st house: physique, appearance, intellect, complexion, vigour/weakness, joy and sorrow, innate nature. 9th house: fortune, wife's brother, religion, brother's wife, pilgrimages.
- It forward-references Avastha (a planet's state — youthful, old, asleep, dead, etc.), explicitly not taught until Ch. 47 — the translator's own Notes state this directly.
