Check Answers
- Time-corrected Pankti position → Moon's exact position → Ascendant → 10th House → remaining ten houses.
- 1 day = 60 Ghati; 1 Ghati = 60 Pala; 1 Pala = 60 Vipala.
- The Moon's motion is fast and uneven enough that the ordinary Chaalana correction (fine for the other, slower Pankti-listed planets) wasn't precise enough — a dedicated Nakshatra-based method (Bhayaata/Bhabhoga) was used instead.
- Swodaya = local-latitude sign-rising-time (used for the Ascendant, a horizon-dependent point); Lankodaya = equatorial sign-rising-time (used for the 10th House, a meridian-dependent point) — different reference frames for different kinds of astronomical points.
- 2h20m × 2½ → 5 Ghati – 50 Pala.
- Arc = 5s15° − 2s15° = 3s0° = 90°. One Kshepaka = 1s0° (30°). 2nd House = 2s15° + 1s0° = 3s15°00′00″.
- Translator commentary. The Hapur example (dated 2-6-1951, well after Parashara's era) appears in the prose Notes following the verses, not within the numbered shloka text itself.
