5. Homework — Chart Observation and Application¶
Skill level: Observation / Classification / Recognition, including correctly identifying genuine gaps.
Exercise 5A — The Complete Sign Profile Table. Reproduce the Lesson's §5.1 table from memory as far as you can for all 12 signs, then check against the text — correctly marking genuine gaps as "not stated," not blank or guessed.

Exercise 5B — Gap Audit. List every gap you found across all 12 signs. For each, state which verse you checked to confirm it's genuinely absent (not just missed by you on a first read).
Exercise 5C — Lord Cross-Check. For three signs of your choosing, state their lord (from today) and confirm it matches that planet's own-sign assignment from Module 2 (Ch. 3 v.49–54). Cite both verses.
Exercise 5D — Your Own Chart. If you know your own chart, look up your Ascendant sign's full profile and its lord, and note which house that lord occupies. Cross-check the lord against your own Module 2 dignity notes for that planet. No interpretation yet — pure observation. You'll use this in the Chart Clinic below.

- If you were reading a different, more complete translation of BPHS and it filled in Scorpio's rising type, Gemini's caste, and Pisces's complexion — how would you decide whether to trust that fuller version or treat it with suspicion?
- The rising-type Notes (Lesson §5.5) describe a sign's unoccupied tendency. Why does that qualifier matter so much for avoiding the mechanical-stereotyping trap this course keeps warning about?

§5B — Gap Audit
Gaps confirmed by direct verse re-check: Gemini caste/guna (v.9–9½), Cancer direction (v.10–11), Scorpio guna/rising-type (v.15–16½), Capricorn caste (v.19–20), Pisces complexion (v.22–24).
§5C — Lord Cross-Check
Any three, e.g.: Aries → Mars (Ch.4 v.7; Ch.3 v.49–54 confirms Mars's own signs include Aries). Cancer → Moon (Ch.4 v.11; Ch.3 v.49–54 confirms Cancer as Moon's own/Mooltrikona-adjacent sign). Capricorn → Saturn (Ch.4 v.19–20; Ch.3 v.49–54 confirms Capricorn as one of Saturn's own signs). All three agree — no discrepancy found.
§5D — Your Own Chart
No fixed answer — pure observation exercise. Self-check that you correctly identified your Ascendant's lord and its house placement, and that the Module 2 dignity cross-check was actually performed, not skipped.
