Module Chart Clinic: Module 6 — Aspects of Signs and Planets¶
Chapter covered: Ch. 9 ("Aspects of the Signs"), Lesson 1 Chart used: your own natal chart, Stage 1
1. Learning Purpose¶
Module 6 is a single, tightly-scoped lesson covering two parallel aspect systems: the sign-based (triplicity) full-aspect rule and the planet-based graduated (paada) special-aspect rule. As a one-lesson module, this capstone extends L1's own Chart Clinic to explicitly test both systems side by side against the same chart point, since BPHS itself never states how the two reconcile (that's deferred to Ch. 28, Semester 2).
2. Concepts Being Tested¶
- The sign-aspect rule: movable ↔ fixed (except adjacent), dual ↔ dual (Ch. 9 v.1–5).
- The general planetary-aspect rule and the graduated special aspects for Saturn, Jupiter, and Mars (Ch. 9 v.10–16).
3. Guided Analysis Sequence¶
- Pick one planet in your chart, ideally one you already tested in Module 2's capstone.
- Apply the sign-aspect rule: which signs does the sign it occupies aspect?
- Apply the planetary-aspect rule: which houses does this specific planet aspect, and at what strength (full, or graduated if it's Saturn, Jupiter, or Mars)?
- Compare the two results. Do the sign-aspect and planet-aspect systems point at the same houses/signs, or different ones?
4. Questions¶
- Cite the exact verse for each rule applied.
- BPHS states both systems exist (v.16) without saying how to reconcile them. Given your own comparison in step 4, what practical rule would you tentatively use until Ch. 28 resolves it — and label that rule honestly as your own working hypothesis, not a BPHS claim.
5. Expected Reasoning¶
Full seven-step Chart Clinic chain, run twice — once for the sign-aspect result, once for the planet-aspect result — on the same planet, so the comparison in step 4 above is grounded in two completed reasoning chains, not just two raw facts.
6. Answers / Model Reasoning¶
(Not provided — self-check against Lesson S01-M06-L01: Aspects of Signs and Planets — Workbook, §9 Check Answers and Explanations.)
7. Reflection / Error-Check¶
- Did holding two unresolved aspect systems at once feel workable, or did you find yourself unconsciously picking one and ignoring the other? Notice which.
- Record your entry in your personal Research Journal, flagging this as one to revisit once Ch. 28 is reached.
